Former U.S. Vice President and Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris has strongly criticized Donald Trump’s presidency, calling it a calculated campaign to reshape America through fear and elitist policies.

Speaking in San Francisco at an Emerge event a political organization that trains Democratic women to run for office Harris delivered her first major speech since the Democrats’ 2024 election loss.

“We are witnessing the rapid execution of a decades-old conservative plan,” Harris said, accusing Trump of promoting division and consolidating power to benefit a privileged few. She pointed to efforts to defund public education, shrink government, and privatize services, while handing tax breaks to the wealthy.

“This is not chaos by accident it’s chaos by design,” she warned. “They punish truth-tellers, reward loyalists, and leave the rest behind.”

Harris condemned Trump’s use of executive orders, saying they bypass democratic norms and endanger civil liberties. She also highlighted public concern over his shifting trade policies and their impact on the economy.

Despite her criticism, Harris offered a message of hope: “Fear isn’t the only thing that’s contagious courage is, too. And Americans across the country are showing it.”

Though she hasn’t announced future political plans, Harris is rumored to be eyeing a 2026 California gubernatorial bid or a 2028 presidential run. Her pointed remarks suggest a return to the political forefront as a key figure opposing Trump-era conservatism.
