President Bola Tinubu has awarded American billionaire and Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates, the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR). The ceremony took place on Tuesday in Lagos.
The announcement was shared by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates is currently in Nigeria to meet with President Tinubu and discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s primary healthcare system.
