China will offer visa-free entry to citizens from five Latin American nations: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay starting from June 1. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that travelers from these countries can stay for up to 30 days without a visa under a one-year trial initiative.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that the move aims to deepen China’s ties with Latin America and boost cultural and economic exchange.

ā€œWe welcome more foreign friends to visit and experience the colorful and vibrant China,ā€ Lin said at a press briefing.

This decision follows the recent ministerial meeting of the China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Forum held in Beijing, reflecting China’s efforts to strengthen global partnerships and diversify international relations beyond traditional Western allies.

China has also extended visa-free access to several European countries, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and will implement a similar mutual visa exemption with Uzbekistan on June 1.
