Just days after a Nigerian hairstylist, Ifeoluwa Akinwunmi, was arrested in India with drugs worth over N1.8 billion, another Nigerian national, identified as Chikuwuma, has been apprehended for a similar offence.

According to *India Today*, the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested Chikuwuma during a narcotics raid in the Avalahalli area of northern Bengaluru. Authorities seized MDMA and crystal substances valued at approximately Rs 1.2 crore (N214 million).

“The suspect was caught red-handed while attempting to distribute the drugs,” the report noted. He is believed to be part of an international drug trafficking syndicate.

Police investigations revealed that Chikuwuma has allegedly been involved in drug smuggling since 2013. He reportedly imported narcotics from abroad and distributed them across Bengaluru, particularly on the city’s outskirts.

The CCB stated that the operation was part of a larger crackdown aimed at dismantling the network. Chikuwuma is currently in custody as investigations continue.

This arrest adds to the growing number of Nigerian nationals facing prosecution in India for drug-related crimes.
