The Trump Organisation announced Monday the launch of T1 Mobile, a new virtual mobile phone service, further expanding the Trump family’s business interests during Donald Trump’s presidency.

The service will feature the “47 Plan”  a nod to Trump being the 47th U.S. president  and operate as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), using infrastructure from major telecom carriers including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

T1 Mobile’s 5G plan is priced at $47.45 per month, positioned below traditional telecom giants but above budget providers like Boost Mobile and Cricket Wireless.

The company also revealed plans to release its own smartphone, priced at $499, in August. According to T1 Mobile’s website, the device will be “proudly designed and built in the United States.” However, the company has yet to disclose which contractors are involved in the phone’s development.

This venture marks another step in the Trump family’s diversification efforts. In recent years, Donald Trump has launched Trump Media and Technology Group, which owns Truth Social, and in 2024 the family endorsed World Liberty Financial, a stablecoin-focused cryptocurrency platform. Just before his 2025 inauguration, Trump even introduced his personal memecoin, $TRUMP.

Despite concerns raised by ethics watchdogs and lawmakers about possible conflicts of interest, Trump administration officials have defended these ventures as transparent and legally sound. Critics argue that the businesses could open doors for foreign influence.
