U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, pledging an overwhelming military response if the Islamic Republic targets the United States amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Speaking via his Truth Social account on Sunday, Trump emphasized that the U.S. was not involved in Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian nuclear and intelligence sites, which have killed dozens, including senior military officials and nuclear scientists.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape, or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump declared.
The Israeli offensive, which began early Friday, has intensified the conflict, prompting Iran to retaliate with a barrage of missiles. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to destroy all “targets of the ayatollah regime.”
Despite the mounting violence, Trump expressed optimism about diplomacy: “We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!” he wrote.
Trump also reiterated his stance from Friday, urging Tehran to negotiate or risk facing even harsher Israeli retaliation.
During his first term in office, Trump withdrew the U.S. from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, reimposing sanctions on Tehran and straining relations further.
